Project Vertex
Our largest data engineering project to date. We ingested real-time telemetry from 50,000+ smart water meters to help a utility company detect leaks and optimize distribution.
The Challenge
The utility had installed thousands of smart meters but the data was stuck in a vendor silo. They count not visualize usage or detect leaks in real-time, leading to millions of dollars in "Non-Revenue Water" loss.
Our Solution
We built a cloud-native "Data Lakehouse" on Azure. We used IoT Hub to ingest millions of data points daily, Stream Analytics for real-time anomaly detection (leaks), and PowerBI for executive dashboards.

Strategic Impact
Reduced water loss by 12% in the pilot district. Established us as a serious player in the "Hard Tech" / IoT space. Created a new recurring revenue stream via a maintenance contract.
Key Lessons Learned
"Real-time data from unreliable IoT devices requires a "Proof of Technology" phase."
"The immense value of separating compute (analytics) from storage (Data Lake)."
